WE REMEMBER: A New Song Helping Homeless Veterans

WE REMEMBER: A New Song of Remembrance That Will Help Homeless Veterans
Open Horizon Records announces a heartfelt new release for 15 October 2026, with all profits pledged to Help 4 Homeless Veterans — including profits from future royalties and ongoing earnings.
Behind Every Name Was a Life
Every year, millions of people pause to remember those who gave their lives in war. We see the poppies, hear the silence and read the names engraved on memorials.
But behind every name was a person.
A son or daughter. A husband or wife. A brother, sister or friend. Someone with hopes, dreams and a future that was never fulfilled.
This is the message behind We Remember, a new contemporary pop ballad from Open Horizon Records, scheduled for release on 15 October 2026.
Blending heartfelt lyrics with piano, guitar, strings and a powerful, uplifting arrangement, the song honours the lives lost in conflict while reminding us that remembrance must never become just another date on the calendar.
Remembering the Sacrifice of Millions
The First World War changed the lives of families and communities across the world.
The scale of the loss remains almost impossible to comprehend. Historical memorial records commemorate more than one million dead from across the British Empire alone. Russia, France, Germany, Austria-Hungary and many other nations also suffered devastating military losses.
Behind those enormous figures were individual lives, grieving families and generations forever changed.
Although the song draws inspiration from the imagery of the First World War, its message extends beyond any one conflict, country or generation.
We Remember honours all those who served, those who never returned and the families who carried their loss.
Remembrance Must Also Mean Supporting Veterans Today
While the song looks back at the sacrifices of the past, Open Horizon Records also wants it to make a positive difference in the present.
That is why all profits from We Remember will be donated to Help 4 Homeless Veterans, including profits arising from future royalties and ongoing earnings.
The intention is to create a lasting contribution rather than a one-off donation around Remembrance Sunday.
Help 4 Homeless Veterans supports former members of the Armed Forces who are experiencing homelessness or struggling to find secure accommodation.
The South Yorkshire-based charity provides practical assistance, emergency accommodation and longer-term support to help veterans regain their independence.
Its work also reaches people experiencing hidden homelessness, including those sleeping in cars or staying temporarily with friends because they have nowhere else to go.
In August 2026, the charity celebrated a significant milestone with the opening of Woodhouse, its first property providing safe, temporary accommodation for veterans rebuilding their lives.
It is a powerful reminder that practical support can offer more than a roof over someone's head. It can provide stability, dignity and the opportunity for a fresh start.
A Song With a Purpose Beyond Its Release
For Open Horizon Records, We Remember is about more than releasing another song.
It is about encouraging people to reflect, remember and help make a difference.
Those who gave their lives deserve never to be forgotten. Those who have returned from service and now face hardship deserve our support.
Music has the ability to reach people in a way that statistics and headlines sometimes cannot. Our hope is that this song will encourage listeners to remember the past while helping veterans facing difficulties today.
How You Can Help
We Remember will be released on 15 October 2026, with availability planned through iTunes, Spotify and other major digital music services.
We warmly invite everyone to support the release by sharing the song, spreading the word and pre-ordering or downloading it when available.
Every purchase can help contribute to the ongoing work of Help 4 Homeless Veterans, and every share helps bring the message to a wider audience.
