"Born to Shine" The Story Behind Born to Shine: The Inspiration and Message Behind the Song: -- Born to Shine is an uplifting tribute to a remarkable journey from childhood dreams to a life that touches countless others through music. It celebrates determination, resilience and the extraordinary power of a voice to bring happiness, comfort and hope. At its heart is the story of a young girl who had little in material possessions but carried something far more valuable — a dream that refused to fade,, that girl dreaming as a child transformed into Bonnie Tyler! The Journey Through the Lyrics: -- The song begins beneath the stars, where a little girl imagines a future beyond the world she knows. Her journey is not without hardship, and the lyrics suggest a particularly difficult moment when she is told she might never sing again. Yet she returns with renewed strength, her voice becoming a symbol of courage and perseverance. Beyond the applause and recognition, the song acknowledges the private struggles that can exist behind a public life. The reference to the “valley girl behind the name” brings the story back to its beginnings, suggesting that fame never completely changed the person behind the extraordinary voice. The Deeper Meaning: -- As the song reaches its final verses, its focus moves beyond achievement to the lives touched along the way. The music becomes a source of strength for others, inspiring dreams, healing hearts and creating memories that endure. Born to Shine ultimately celebrates more than success. It honours the lasting gift of music and the belief that one person’s dream can become a light in countless other lives as shown in just some of the awards on the cover, awarded to Bonnie over the years.
Lyrics
A little girl with a big dream Who sang beneath the stars shed seen She never knew what lay ahead Or where the road of life led She had no silver had no gold Just songs inside her heart to hold And every time she closed her eyes She saw her name across the skies The road was long the nights were cold But some dreams never grow old You were born to shine Born to touch the sky Born to give the world a song That time cant leave behind You were born to shine And light up every day You gave the world a reason To sing along the way They told her she might never sing But she came back with everything A voice that thundered through the night And turned the darkness into light Behind the fame behind the cheers Were quiet hopes and hidden tears But through it all she stayed the same The valley girl behind the name The years rolled on the seasons flew But every song still sounded new You were born to shine Born to touch the sky Born to give the world a song That time cant leave behind You were born to shine And light up every day You gave the world a reason To sing along the way And if you only knew How many dreams began with you How many hearts you helped to mend How many found their strength again You were born to shine Born to touch the sky Born to give the world a song That time cant leave behind You were born to shine And the years can never change The joy you gave the love you made Will always light the way A little girl with a big dream Who gave the world a song to sing Born to shine Born to shine
